Silent Pass is a favourite riding area for many locals and features untold stashes of fresh powder when many other areas are pounded out. The trail is groomed most of the way to Silent Pass. Once you leave the groomed trail there is a crux section ascending a waterfall but if you make it past that section (much easier to do when there is more snow cover) you’re in for a good time.
Make sure your group has avalanche skills & equipment when playing in the backcountry. Check out the Silent Pass Avalanche Terrain Evaluation System (ATES) map (click on the image to view full screen and then right click to save the image in a larger file).
